History of Muhurat Trading?

Nearly 50 years have passed since the first recorded instance of the muhurat trade. The Bombay Stock Exchange was the place where it all began in 1957. During that era, there was no such thing as doing business online. So during the special muhurat trading hour, all of the merchants would assemble at the BSE to conduct their business. Even though the years have passed, none of the enthusiasm that formerly surrounded the muhurat trade has diminished.

This auspicious occasion has witnessed solid buying—on 13 out of the last 15 times.

How Muhurat Trading Works?

You must be intrigued to learn more about how this one-hour trading session truly operates because there is so much buzz about it in the market.

On the occasion of Diwali, trading is permitted on both the NSE and the BSE; however, it is only open for a short period of time. Typically, the muhurat trading period is divided into the following sessions:

  • Pre-Open Session: During this session, the stock exchanges figure out what the fair price is. About 8 minutes will pass during this session.

  • Muhurat Trading Session: During this session, real trading happens, and investors buy shares from a variety of companies. It’s an hour-long trading session.

  • Block Deal Session: During this stage of the process, two parties agree on a price for the purchase or sale of shares, then notify the appropriate stock exchanges of their decision. The transaction is then finalized.

  • Auction Call: Trading of illiquid securities—that is, securities that don’t meet the standard requirements of stock exchanges—takes place during this session.

  • Closing: During this final phase of the muhurat trade, investors have one more opportunity to make orders based on the final closing price.

The most important thing for muhurat trading is to have a trading account in the first place. If you don’t have one already, then why don’t you open an account right here, right now, in a matter of minutes?
