  • The role has accountability for prioritizing, planning and delivery of solutions to the end user requirements and acts as main contact point for the application. Identify, design, develop, and implement new functionality as defined by internal and external user demands.
  • Assist in the creation of system design and technical specifications for Application.
  • Document system and data flow diagrams to support the design of software.
  • Create Use Cases, User requirements, Standard Operating Procedures or other required documentation based on business requirements.
  • Communicate software limitations and functionality to non-technical users.
  • Coordinate all application upgrades in support of current business roadmap and new development.
  • Proactively assist (where required) with incidents and requests assigned to the Frontline team
  • Identify, Create and Resolve Problem records associated with the Applications we support following ITIL methodology working effectively with internal and external partners.
  • As an SME you are expected to be the “fountain of knowledge” for your assigned Application set and lead on any work that is required within this space.
  • Working with the supplier to understand the future, working with them to improve their application based on the needs of our business, and anything that would improve efficiency or reduce cost to our business.
  • Analyse complex systems and data to assist the investigate and resolve reported system and data issues.
  • Work closely and efficiently with team members, other colleagues and third parties to ensure support requirements are fully achieved.
  • Ensure that documentation is kept up to date and knowledge is shared between team members, and the wider Application Support Teams.
  • Ensure system uptime achieves and exceeds strict KPIs.
  • Assist in the Resolution of incidents within strict KPIs.
  • Perform out of hours changes as required by the business from time to time
  • Advanced proficiency in determining the causes of application errors and repairing them.
  • Knowledge of working within an ITIL environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Work without supervision and under pressure.
  • Strong organisation skills and able to prioritize and coordinate effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time well.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Flexible and open to change.
  • Able to work with all levels of staff.
  • Quality conscious and proven analytical abilities
  • Willing to take ownership and to share information.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in IT or Computer Science
  • Excellent communication, presentation and team building skills
  • Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
