    Overview

    Restaurant Brands Asia Limited was originally incorporated as Burger King India Private Limited on November 11, 2013 at Mumbai. Company subsequently converted the status into a Public Limited and name of the Company was changed to Burger King India Limited on September 25, 2019. Thereafter, name of the Company was changed to 'Restaurant Brands Asia Limited' dated February 2, 2022. The Company is engaged in the business of Quick Service Restaurants under the brand name of 'Burger King' and is presently a subsidiary of QSR Asia Pte. Ltd. The Company started operations in 2014 and has since grown into a well-established QSR player. It has leveraged Burger King's strong global brand, along with its marketing, technical and operational expertise, to build customer awareness and expand its presence. In Indonesia, RBAL operates Burger King and Popeyes through its subsidiaries, PT Sari Burger Indonesia and PT Sari Chicken Indonesia. Burger King is a globally recognised QSR brand, known for its quality, value offerings and its signature flame-grilled Whopper. As of March 31, 2026, the Company had a widespread network of 581 Burger Kingr restaurants, including 5 sub-franchisee restaurants in India. In FY 2019-20, the Company opened 73 new restaurants. As of March 31, 2021, the Company operated 265 restaurants, including 9 sub-franchised restaurants across 58 cities in the country. In FY 2020-21, it commissioned 5 new restaurants. It launched a new Whopper range. It launched King Deals, which include with varied option promotions combining the burgers/wraps with fries and Pepsi. In FY 2021-22, the Company relaunched the premium portfolio with King's Collection with distinguished ingredients like paneer, cheese, fiery and tandoori chicken and unique masala bun. It added new desserts, including the Choco Lava Cup and Chocolate Mousse Cup. During FY 2021- 22, it increased 50 restaurants, which grew to nearly 315 restaurants including 9 sub-franchised restaurants. As of March 31, 2022, the Company had a widespread network of 315 restaurants, including 9 sub-franchisee restaurants. It opened 35 BK Cafe stores in 2022. In 2022, Company acquired controlling stake of 87.75% in PT Sari Burger Indonesia (BK Indonesia) on March 9, 2022. and consequently, BK Indonesia became subsidiary of the Company wherein the Company holds 87.75% of its equity shares. PT Sari Chicken Indonesia (incorporated by BK Indonesia on March 29, 2022 as its wholly owned subsidiary) also became subsidiary of the Company w.e.f. March 29, 2022. As of March 31, 2023, the Company had a widespread network of 391 Burger King restaurants, including 7 sub-franchisee restaurants in India. In 2023, the Company launched Popeyes Louisiana Chicken; launched the spicy fried chicken and the non-spicy fried chicken; launched 1st 100% Vegetarian, No Onion, No Garlic Burger King restaurant; launched a unique Chicken King menu in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad; launched 'Boss Whopper' to increase consumption frequency; launched Masala Chai to complete the hot beverages portfolio and seasonal specials such as Cinnamon flavoured Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate. The Company opened 76 new 'Burger King' restaurants in FY 2022-23. The Company opened 64 restaurants, bringing the total number of operational restaurants to 455 in FY24. As of March 31, 2024, the Company had a widespread network of 455 BURGER KING restaurants, including 5 sub-franchisee restaurants in India. It launched chicken nuggets, with a unique crunchy texture and flavour profile in 2024. It launched world's first 100% vegetarian 'Burger King' Restaurant at Katra. The Company' restaurants rose to over 513 in India, alongside entry into Indonesia in FY 2025, by adding a net of 58 Burger King restaurants in March, 2025. A total of 16 restaurants opened, including three each in Amritsar and Faridabad in FY25.

    Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd share price softened by 1.07% to Rs 66.58 after the company's net profit tumbled by 30.42% to Rs 33.0 crore, while revenue from operations edged up 16.38% to Rs 822.61 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of Restaurants industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 83820.14 crore, rising 6.70%. It has marginally improved by 1.80% over last one week and gained upto 1.48% in last one month while the market capitalization of Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd has eased by 1.04% and 20.91% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd stood at Rs 33.0 crore in Q2 FY26, nosediving by 27.36% year-on-year, and plunging by 30.42% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 80 crore, surging by 58.28% YoY and slipping 7.56% sequentially. Total expenses went up by 15.92% to Rs 825.93 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 257.61 crore, advancing by 14.16% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 130.27 crore, inching up 5.08% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations grew 10.66% to Rs 2822.64 crore, while net profit declined by 12.31% to Rs 204.13 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA witnessed a strong improvement of 25414% to Rs 279.64 crore, and PBT declined 12.31% to Rs 204.13 crore compared to previous TTM. The company's consolidated net cash flow from operating activities stood at Rs 302.66 crore in FY26, as against Rs 350.44 crore in FY25. Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd crashed 18.23% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has eased by 3.81% during the same period.
