The Indian stock markets will observe a trading holiday on November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) due to the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The NSE, in a notification on November 8, confirmed the closure, stating, “the Exchange hereby notifies Wednesday, November 20, 2024, as a trading holiday on account of Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.”
The 288-member Maharashtra state legislative assembly elections will take place on that day, with vote counting scheduled three days later.

This closure will be followed by another on November 15, 2024 (Friday), for Guru Nanak Jayanti, making it the third market holiday this month.
