What is a dormant trading account?

A dormant trading account is one that has been inactive for a specified period—usually 24 consecutive months—with no trading activity.

As per SEBI regulations, brokers are required to mark such accounts as dormant for security and compliance reasons.

Why has my trading account become inactive?

Your account becomes dormant if:
·   You haven’t placed any trades in the last 24 months

How do I reactivate a dormant trading or Demat account?

You can reactivate your dormant Alice Blue account through online modes.

6 – Complete IPV (In-Person Verification) – via live selfie

7 – Complete the DigiPad Signature

8E-sign using Aadhaar-linked mobile number

What documents are needed for dormant account reactivation?

How long does it take to reactivate a dormant account?

Usually takes 24 working hours after submitting all documents and completing the e-sign process.

Will I be charged for reactivating my account?

Can I place trades if my account is dormant?
