Transfer Between Brokers

What is a CMR copy and when is it required?

A CMR copy (Client Master Report) is an official document issued by your depository participant (DP) — i.e., your broker — that contains all your demat account details as recorded with NSDL or CDSL..
The CMR copy must be stamped and signed by your broker or digitally signed if sent electronically. This ensures the receiving party or institution can verify that the demat account belongs to you and matches official records.
