Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hosting the ‘Semicon India 2024’ event in Greater Noida. He highlighted that India’s progress in semiconductor technology, driven by Modi’s vision, will position the country as the world’s third largest economy.

Prasada emphasized the significance of the event, noting that prominent national and international CEOs and semiconductor experts have gathered in India. He attributed this development to the Prime Minister’s leadership and foresight, marking a pivotal moment for the country.

Prime Minister Modi, during the inauguration of the three-day conference, underscored the opportune moment for semiconductor manufacturing in India. He emphasized the country’s integrated ecosystem, ease of doing business, and a vast talent pool as key advantages for global players.

Modi assured the audience that India offers a robust environment for investment and growth in the semiconductor sector. He noted that India houses 20% of the global talent in semiconductor design, which is steadily expanding.

He also announced plans to build an 85,000-strong semiconductor workforce, comprising technicians, R&D experts, and designers, reinforcing India’s commitment to becoming a global hub for semiconductor technology.
