Meesho reported a substantial 40% increase in orders during its annual ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale 2024’, which attracted 145 crore customer visits from September 27 to October 6. The first day alone saw 6.5 crore unique visitors, setting a vigorous start to the festive season event.
Founder and CEO Vidit Aatrey noted that Meesho app downloads reached 1.5 crore before the sale, with purchase orders on the opening day doubling compared to last year. This growth underscores the platform’s expanding popularity and user engagement during major sales events.

Milan Partani, general manager of user growth, stated the event exceeded expectations with 3 crore app downloads and a 45% rise in new e-commerce users. This growth emphasises Meesho’s role in democratising online shopping for millions across India, especially for those new to e-commerce.
The data revealed that 45% of the total customer visits were from tier-4 cities, showing a significant increase in e-commerce penetration in less urban areas. Remote locations like Ranaghat and Neyyattinkara were notable contributors alongside major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai.

Prepaid orders jumped by 117%, indicating a preference shift towards digital payments, especially outside tier-1 cities. Significant growth was also seen across various product categories, with home and kitchen items growing by 105%, and Meesho Mall orders doubling, highlighting a strong demand for quality branded products.
