JSW Steel has reported a consolidated crude steel production of 6.77 million tonnes for Q2FY25, marking a 6% increase from 6.41 million tonnes in Q2FY24. This production figure also reflects a 7% rise compared to the previous quarter. The capacity utilization for its Indian operations reached 91% in Q2FY25, with Indian production contributing 6.63 million tonnes, up from over 6.20 million tonnes in Q2FY24.

In contrast, JSW Steel USA’s Ohio facility produced 0.14 million tonnes of crude steel in Q2FY25. The previous quarter, Q1FY25, saw a decline in overall production, falling to 6.3 million tonnes, which was 1% lower year-on-year and down 6.6% from the preceding quarter.

The decrease in crude steel production in Q1FY25 affected revenue, which rose marginally by 1.7% YoY to ₹42,943 crore, compared to ₹42,213 crore in the same quarter the previous year. However, net profit plummeted by 64% YoY to ₹867 crore for Q2FY25.

JSW Steel, established in 1994, is engaged in manufacturing and selling iron and steel products. Its integrated manufacturing facilities are located in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, with additional operations in Gujarat and long-term leases for iron ore mines in Odisha and Karnataka.

Following the quarterly updates, JSW Steel’s share price increased nearly 1%, trading at ₹1,007 per share on the NSE on Thursday morning.
