Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary, officially began her political campaign by filing her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election in Kerala on October 23, 2024. This seat was previously held by her brother, Rahul Gandhi.

In her electoral affidavit, Priyanka disclosed assets totaling over Rs 12 crore, including 4.4 kg of gold, a mutual fund worth Rs 2.25 crore, Rs 52,000 cash, and Rs 3.67 lakh in three bank accounts. She also owns a property in Shimla and shares in agricultural land in Mehrauli, New Delhi.
Priyanka and her husband, Robert Vadra, have combined assets worth Rs 77.55 crore, which include both movable and immovable properties.

In her affidavit to the Election Commission of India, Priyanka Gandhi reported movable assets worth Rs 4.27 crore. This includes Rs 52,000 cash, Rs 3.67 lakh across three bank accounts, and a Honda CRV car gifted by her husband, Robert Vadra.
Priyanka also disclosed over 4,400 grams of gold valued at Rs 1.15 crore and silver worth Rs 29 lakh. Additionally, she has Rs 2.25 crore invested in the Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund, owning 13,200 units as of September 30.
Her immovable assets are valued at Rs 7.41 crore, including inherited agricultural land shares and a half-share in a farmhouse. She also owns a 12,000 square feet residential property in Shimla, valued at approximately Rs 5.63 crore. In contrast, her husband Robert Vadra has movable assets totaling Rs 37.92 crore.

In her nomination papers, Priyanka Gandhi disclosed an income of Rs 46.39 lakh for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, slightly down from Rs 47.21 lakh in 2022-2023. Her income sources include rent, bank interest, and investments.
Priyanka has reported liabilities of Rs 15.75 lakh and is undergoing income tax reassessment for the 2012-13 assessment year, potentially owing over Rs 15 lakh in taxes. Her husband, Robert Vadra, earned Rs 15.09 lakh in FY 2023-24, a drop from Rs 55.58 lakh in 2019-20, with liabilities totaling Rs 10 crore.
Cases Against Priyanka Gandhi
According to her affidavit, Priyanka Gandhi faces two FIRs and a notice from the forest department. One FIR was filed in Madhya Pradesh in 2023 for allegedly making misleading tweets, accusing her of cheating and forgery under IPC sections 420 and 469.

The second FIR, filed in Uttar Pradesh in 2020, charges her with violating IPC sections 188, 269, and 270 due to her protests regarding the Hathras incident. Priyanka and her brother, Rahul Gandhi, were also arrested during the COVID-19 pandemic for attempting to meet the family of a Dalit rape victim.
Educational Background
