The stock market will operate as usual on Lohri (January 13) and Makar Sankranti (January 14, 2025), as these days are not listed as trading holidays by BSE and NSE. Investors can participate in all segments on these dates.

Despite Makar Sankranti being a public and bank holiday declared by RBI, stock exchanges will conduct regular trading sessions. Pre-open trading begins at 9:00 AM, followed by normal trading hours from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring uninterrupted market activity.

In 2025, there are 14 official stock market holidays. The first holiday falls on February 26 for Mahashivratri, while the last holiday is on December 25 for Christmas. Regular weekends remain unaffected by this schedule.

January 26, Republic Day, is a public holiday, but since it falls on a Sunday this year, the stock market will remain closed as per usual weekend closures. This aligns with regular trading practices.

During the preceding week, the Indian stock market saw profit booking, with indices Sensex and Nifty declining by around 2%. This reflects market trends influenced by investor sentiment and broader economic conditions during this period.

Investors are advised to refer to the BSE and NSE holiday calendars for 2025 to plan their trading activities. Understanding the schedule ensures seamless participation in the market and avoids potential confusion during festival seasons.
