Go Digit General Insurance made a strong debut on the stock market on May 23, rewarding investors like Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. The celebrity couple’s initial investment in February 2020 has quadrupled, reflecting the company’s substantial growth.
Virat Kohli invested Rs 2 crore in Go Digit by purchasing 266,667 shares at Rs 75 each, while Anushka Sharma bought 66,667 shares for Rs 50 lakh, totaling a combined investment of Rs 2.5 crore. Their investment surged as Go Digit’s share price soared past Rs 300.
Following the stock market debut, Kohli’s investment value rocketed to Rs 8 crore, and Anushka Sharma’s rose to Rs 2 crore. Together, their holdings in the insurance company now stand at an impressive Rs 10 crore.
Go Digit, supported by Fairfax and established in 2016, has diversified its portfolio to include 74 different insurance products across health, travel, and property sectors. This variety has significantly contributed to the company’s market appeal and investor confidence.
A day before the IPO, Go Digit secured Rs 1,176 crore from anchor investors such as Fidelity, ADIA, and Bay Pond Partners at Rs 272 per share, highlighting strong institutional trust in the company’s potential for growth.
