What does the term “Follow-on Public Offering (FPO)” mean?

A Follow-on Public Offering (FPO) is a type of securities offering where a public company makes an additional issuance of its securities to the public after the initial public offering (IPO). 

In an FPO, the company issues and sells additional shares of its common stock, and these shares are offered to both existing shareholders and the general public.
