VA TECH WABAG, a leading Indian multinational in water technology, has won a €78 million (approx. ₹700 Crore) Design, Build, and Operate (DBO) order from Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company. The project is funded by the European Investment Bank and Germany’s KfW.

The contract involves constructing two advanced wastewater treatment plants in Ngwerere (54 MLD) and Chunga (19 MLD), Zambia. Scheduled for completion in 36 months, the plants will utilize green energy sources like biogas and solar for sustainability.

Marking WABAG’s entry into Zambia, the project highlights its growing African presence. Known for delivering innovative water solutions, WABAG’s competitive bid and expertise secured this milestone, reinforcing its leadership in the continent’s water infrastructure development.
