    Avenue Supermarts Limited was initially incorporated as Private Limited Company on May 12, 2000 with the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai and was subsequently converted into a Public Limited company on May 3, 2011. DMart works as a national supermarket chain, focusing on value-retailing. The Company provide a wide range of products with a focus on the Foods, Non-Foods (FMCG) and General Merchandise & Apparel product categories. Since launching of first store in 2002 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, DMart in FY2026 has grown to 500 stores with a retail business area of 20.58 million sq. ft. spread across Maharashtra), Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Punjab, NCR, Chhattisgarh and Daman. The supermarket chain of DMart stores is owned and operated by Avenue Supermarts Ltd. (ASL). The company has its headquarters in Mumbai. The brands D Mart, D Mart Minimax, D Mart Premia, D Homes, Dutch Harbour, etc are brands owned by ASL. DMart is a one-stop supermarket chain that aims to offer customers a wide range of basic home and personal products under one roof. Each DMart store stocks home utility products - including food, toiletries, beauty products, garments, kitchenware, bed and bath linen, home appliances and more - available at competitive prices. The company's core objective is to offer customers good products at great value. DMart was started by Mr. Radhakishan Damani and his family to address the growing needs of the Indian family. From the launch of its first store in Powai in 2002, DMart today has a well-established presence in 154 locations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, NCR, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Rajasthan. In 2007, DMart entered Gujarat with its first store in the state. In 2010, the total store count of our company crossed 25 stores and the audited consolidated revenue crossed Rs 1000 crore mark. In 2012, the store count of the company crossed 50 stores. In 2014, the store count of our company increased to 75 stores. In 2015, audited consolidated revenue of the company crossed Rs 5000 crore mark. In 2016, the store count of our company increased to 110 and the consolidated revenues crossed Rs 7500 crore mark. Company made a public issue of 62,541,806 equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each by raising funds aggregating to Rs 1870 Cr in March, 2017 through fresh issue. On 2 February 2018, Avenue Supermarts (ASL) acquired 4.35 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each, fully paid-up, of Avenue E-Commerce Limited aggregating to Rs 49.21 crore. Pursuant to this, Avenue E-Commerce Limited became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Company. During 2018-19, 21 new stores were opened taking the count to 176 stores. As of 31st March, 2019, DMart had 176 stores with retail business area of 5.9 million sq.ft. In 2019-20, Avenue Supermarts opened 38 new stores during the year. In FY 2020-21, 22 new stores were added and two of the older stores were converted in fulfillment center for its Subsidiary Company, Avenue E-commerce Limited. As of March 31, 2021 Company had 39 distribution centres and 7 packing centres. During the year 2021-22, Company expanded operations by adding a record of 50 new stores. It expanded service coverage to include over 500 pin codes in 9 cities, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Bhopal, and Indore. During the year 2022-23, Company expanded operations by adding 40 new stores with a total of 324 stores as of 31st March, 2023. In 2023-24, Company opened 41 new stores thus taking the total store count to 365. The Company opened 50 new stores taking the total store count to 415 in FY 24-25. The Company expanded the business with the opening of 85 new stores taking the total count to 500 stores in FY 2025-26.

    Avenue Supermarts Ltd announced that Crisil Ratings Limited has assigned a CRISIL AAA/Stable rating to its Non-Convertible Debentures amounting to Rs. 1,000 crores, representing the first, second, and third tranches; this rating is pronounced as Crisil triple A rating with Stable outlook.     Avenue Supermarts slipped 2.34% to Rs 3,985.30 after the company reported slower growth in mature stores, with same-store sales growth moderating and performance in large metro markets remaining flat during the first quarter.

    Avenue Supermarts, which owns and operates the DMart retail chain, reported an 11.33% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 860.61 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 772.97 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations rose 14.88% to Rs 18,794.53 crore in Q1 FY27 as against Rs 16,359.70 crore in Q1 FY26. During the quarter, the company's profit before tax (PBT) increased 11.88% year-on-year to Rs 1,183.14 crore. Consolidated EBITDA increased 15.39% year-on-year to Rs 1,499 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 1,299 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The EBITDA margin improved marginally to 8.0% from 7.9%. Profit before tax (PBT) rallied 11.88% year on year to Rs 1,183.14 crore in Q1 FY27. D-Mart follows Everyday low cost - Everyday low price (EDLC-EDLP) strategy which aims at procuring goods at competitive prices, using operational and distribution efficiency and thereby delivering value for money to customers by selling at competitive prices. On a standalone basis, the company's net profit rose 12.78% to Rs 935.77 crore, while revenue from operations increased 15.13% to Rs 18,343.49 crore in Q1 FY27 over Q1 FY26. The company's standalone EBITDA grew 16.29% to Rs 1,527 crore from Rs 1,313 crore in the year-ago quarter, with the EBITDA margin improving to 8.3% from 8.2%. Anshul Asawa, managing director (MD) & CEO, Avenue Supermarts, commented on the performance of the DMart (Brick and Mortar) Business: 'Our revenue in Q1 FY27 grew by 15.1% over the previous year. Profit after tax (PAT) grew by 12.8% over the previous year. Two years and older DMart stores grew by 5.5% during Q1 FY27 as compared to 7.1% in Q1 FY26. In large metros, growth in older stores which have significantly higher revenue per square foot was flat this quarter. While stores in non-metros continue to grow well. We opened 3 new stores during the quarter taking our total store count to 503'. Meanwhile, the company has re-appointed Bhaskaran N as whole-time director, designated as chief operating officer (COO), for the period from 17 October 2026 to 31 May 2028, subject to shareholders' approval. The company also appointed Lalit Ahuja as chief operating officer and senior management personnel with effect from 13 July 2026. Further, Parvez Vandrewala's designation has been changed from chief operating officer to head ' Centre of Excellence, effective 1 November 2026.
